"Be My Valentine"

I recently started following a new blog called "Women Living Well".  I've only been following it for the last 3 days, but it has been such an encouragement and blessing in my life and has given me goals to try and follow that are spiritually based, that can only help me and my marriage.  Today, they came out with a challenge, a "Be My Valentine, Marriage Challenge" that I have decided to try.  It is a 4 week challenge, that starts this coming Monday, and it's challenging me to not make Valentines day all about me but to put the spotlight on my husband, and to show him that I "not only love him, but also like him".  I am very excited to start it and am even more excited to see my hubby's reaction to my attitude, love, encouragement, and praise of him.  If you would like to read more about it or even possibly sign up for the challenge here is the link:

Dish & Hand Towels

So about a month ago my hubby comes to me and says "What the heck happened to all our hand towels! We have a million dish towels, but NO hand towles". I laughed and told him there all washed in hot water, just grab a dish towel and use it for a hand towel! But the whole conversation made me start thinking that I'm doing pretty good with my crocheting skills, I should be able to crochet some new hand towels... so I went to the craft store and low and behold they had a pattern book for dish & hand towels, so the last few days I've been trying my hand out in making hand towels! I've completed 1 and am almost done with a 2nd one. Here is my current project:

I'm loving the colors, although the hubby may not be a big fan. haha

In the beginning

My family and I recently moved to Colorado Springs in July of 2012. I found I suddenly had a lot of free time on my hands, since my friends who used to help fill up my "me time" were back in California. I decided I was finally going to take some type of craft class, something I'd been saying for years. As a young girl I remember watching my Grandmother as well as a few older family friends crochet/knit, and I always found it fascinating. So I did some research on knitting vs crocheting and decided on taking a crochet class first and hope to eventually take knitting classes. I found this great lady who works at the local craft store who gives classes, Margaret Murakami, and in October I took my first crochet class with her. I absolutely fell in love with it and have been working on projects since the very first class. I have a few projects I've given away, and a few that are just sitting around the house, which led me to decide on opening an Etsy store and to try and sell the projects I don't give away! I'm just in the beginning stages and am excited to see how this plays out and I'm excited about sharing my experience with you!
